The project concerns the renovation of buildings from the beginning of the 20th century located in via S.Bernardino in Bergamo, intended for the residential function, as well as tertiary-directional and commercial activities. There is no common identity in existing buildings. The recovery, considering the existing constraints, could take place substantially only with the maintenance of the existing building envelopes, except for the recovery of the attics for housing purposes, where admissible. The guiding idea that generated the building structure was to reorganize and give an order to the whole; at the same time an attempt was made to reinterpret the idea of a factory, through appropriate choices of materials and refined aesthetic characteristics, even with a view to reusing the complex.
